I tried selecting the different layouts as well, but its not working.
I have selected the page on which it is supposed to show as Homepage and page for the posts (through customizer).
I use the theme SELA.
On the right you see my dashboard, I saw on a page that it is supposed to show an option, layout options. I dont have that option.
